I am currently going through the process of getting a brace for my Amstaff. My Amstaff actually has bilateral ACL tears so I am purchasing bilateral braces too. It is expensive and they still have not worked great for her but consider the following:
1) Amstaff body statures are super short and muscled making a huge challenge when it comes to bracing.
2) Ortho Pets has been super helpful and has done about 5 adjustments to my dogs customs braces for FREE
3) they have completely remade them to try an entirely different brace for her for FREE
4) they are now covering my shipping expenses and still trying to achieve a product that will work!
Ortho Pets is committed to achieving a quality product that will benefit the dog and not just there pocket book if you know what I mean.

Sure enough, everything he said he told me, he now says is false. I'm stuck with a brace too small that I am trying to re-do myself to fit right. Get a brace from a reputable company that will be guaranteed to fit the first time (with this injury you don't have time to waste with a product that you aren't even guaranteed will fit). This is a waste of money. Bite the bullet, spend a little more and get it right. You get what you pay for.

Horrible customer support. Talks a lot but never answers your questions - even with photos and video. Finally you give up trying and hang up. Also, doesn't return calls or emails (which he sees, just doesn't answer no matter how bad you need an answer for the well being of your pet). Directions/brochures don't look like the way he tells you to put it on the dog. I think he sent wrong size but he won't answer my calls. Vet is also still waiting to hear from him. Biggest complaint is that the harness and rear support at back are hard and lack padding. Other leg cuff also lackes padding and digs into base of thigh. Most worrisome is that it digs into dog's spine 2/3 down the back- he says it doesn't which makes no sense as even a child can see that is where the pressure sits when you cinch it up like he says- plus has D rings and velcro digging in too. Knee brace itself is pretty nicely made and it has potential.Strap around neck is high and almost at choking level. Wish I'd just ordered the leg brace and made my own cushy brace to secure it. Suggest full padding on entire harness if you buy it which is added expense but still cheaper and less invasive that surgery. Make sure you get the right size - may not match the 100% perfect measurements you sent in. Don't let him bully you. I worry he's dragging it out until the warranty runs out and then he's not liable to help me. Will follow up this comment.

Well. that is the brace out then.
Do hope Tucker and all other canine friends will improve.
Am 3 to 4 weeks into rest...not easy, just hope rest will be the answer. If not, tis the baby buggy for him, with a few stops in between. Worked for my last little girl. Men are different though aren't they!!!!

i did not want to do the surgery as my dog is 10 years old so i tried this brace. this brace is terrible. do not waste your money! the customer service is terrible. the brace is poorly designed and impossible to fit. i believe it may be worse than nothing. after a few weeks, I too gave up on it. We are going ahead with prolo therapy, which seems to be much more effective.
